Shen Zhen West Power Plant |

Keicher Technology in China
In 1997/1998 the Shen Zhen West Power Plant becomes a capacity addition of two 300 MW steam turbines. The hydraulic
control system for the power turbines as well as for the four
feedwater pump turbines was concepted from Keicher Engineering in
alliance with the ABB power generation group of Switzerland.
Our concept
Based on protection of human life and high down time costs of power generation turbines, safety and reliability are major design aspects.
The redundant system architecture of Keicher system based on two independent hydraulic circuits. In case of a primary circuit failure the system automatically switch over to the second circuit.
To control the life steam valves for the main power turbine and feedwater pump turbines we developed new advanced control valve as well as stop valve actuators. Each of the actuators are double acting cylinders with a magnetostrictive transducer inside, a less contamination sensitive MOOG ServoJet proportional valve with failsafe capability and shut off cartridge valves. In case of a failure the manifold mounted cartridge valves will rapid response the high performance actuator within 100ms to 500ms, depending from the application requirement. The actuator can driven by two undependent safety cycles, a hydraulically as well as a electrically, to fullfill highest standards.
To imprpve the safety requirements and non intended tripping
of the system we developed a 2 out of 3 trip logic.
